Meet a truly one-of-a-kind creation from T. Hawk Studio—a handcrafted statement ring built around a striking marquis-shaped piece of banded iron from the Prieska area of the Northern Cape, South Africa.

The stone’s naturally linear patterning reveals layers of rich red iron and shimmering metallic hematite inclusions, creating an earthy, almost architectural character. It’s an unusual combination of color, texture, and movement that catches the eye without ever feeling flashy.

This particular stone was hand-picked during my travels to Massachusetts, carefully hand-cut and hand-polished before becoming the centerpiece of this handmade ring. A clean linear design follows the stone’s natural pattern, accented with warm jeweler’s brass, a 3mm black spinel, and delicate 2mm topaz accents. Sterling silver provides the foundation, balancing the warmer metal tones and grounding the entire design.

The result is a piece that feels both ancient and modern—organic stone paired with crisp, simple lines and unexpected flashes of sparkle.
